They are watching you. The web is spun, the data are filtered; limited access. Two woman hackers, hacktivists and their avatars. They are members of a underground militia. Everything must be encrypted: ideas, images, sounds. Impossible to encrypt every single bit. 0110010101110101, must be musically encrypted. But that’s not enough. We must use multiple encryption. We must materialize them by spherification, to be able to spread the message, to carry it, to share it. Everyone must digest it: zero freedom is not an alternative.

Sonia Paço-Rocchia

Sonia Paço-Rocchia is a sound artist/composer/performer/improviser who studied at Université de Montréal. Her work has been presented in North-America and Europe. She enjoys composing for non-conventional instruments, such as bus-cards, slinky or bicycle, and she readily incorporates improvisation and theatrical action into her pieces. She performs/improvises using a myriad of sound-makers, invented instruments, voice and/or bassoon, along with live electronics through interfaces which enable her to perform using her body movements. She plays solo and in various ensembles including London Improvisers Orchestra. She has worked with contemporary dance, visual art and theatre, where as well as composing/improvising the music she has been an integral part of the performances.In 2013, Véronique Binst and her had a residency in La Fabrique de Théâtre, Framerie, Belgium, during APREM where they developed and performed Réseau.

Véronique Binst

Véronique Binst is a plurirdisciplinary artist constantly seeking further development in her practice. She received a master’s degree in musicology and scriptwriting while practising cello & singing. After graduating, she followed acting classes with Frédéric Dussenne in the Art Conservatory in Mons, where she obtained an honours award in dramatic arts. Véronique has taken part in numerous project, as actor, musician or stage director. For several years she has been exploring animation movie techniques using modeling clay. She has attendend classes at the CECN on new technologies together with the Pro VIA festival in Mons. She also took part in the electroacoustics training Sound’Up from Art Zoyd and to the Digital Arts Research group from APREM. All these projects, led to meeting more an more people, mixing various techniques and exploring even further, including playing with molecular cuisine, cosmos imagination or the information of binary code.
