Erandy Vergara

Erandy Vergara is a curator and researcher, she reads and writes on media and contemporary art. She has organized and produced a number of exhibitions in various institutions ranging from museums to media art (Laboratorio Arte Alameda, Mexico) to artist-run centers and other non-profit spaces (Manchester Digital Laboratory, UK). She has been coordinator of Studio XX programming from September 2015 to 2017. She was the artistic director of the festival HTMlles: Conditions of confidentiality (2016), and artistic co-director of Transitio_mx 06, the Festival of media art in Mexico. Her main research interests include feminism, world studies in art history, curatorial studies, postcolonialism, and critical studies on race issues. She has a Master degree from Concordia University and a Ph.D in Art History from McGill University. Her essays have been published in books and journals, such as "The Routledge Companion to Remix Studies" (2014) and "[Ready] Media: Towards an archeology of Media and Invention in Mexico" (2013).
