Sarabeth Triviño Journées de la culture 2022 : Beading Workshop

As part of the Journées de la culture, OBORO invites you to a creative workshop based on the theme of Sarabeth Triviño’s exhibition , Mapu: Sacred Land.

Inspired by the artist's work, participants will be able to create a colourful design, mounted as a canvas on an embroidery hoop, using beading and embroidery techniques. Participants are encouraged to bring any bead necklaces they have lying around and recycle them during this workshop. At OBORO, on Saturday October 1, 2022, from 1:30 to 4:30 pm. The artist will be present. A tour of the exhibition will precede the workshop.

Sarabeth Triviño is a textile artist of Chilean origin who lives and works in Tio’tia:ke/Montreal. She became a professional artisan member of the Conseil des métiers d’arts du Québec in 2008 and in 2017, she completed her BFA in Visual and Media Arts at UQÀM and is currently a Master’s candidate in Fibers & Material Practices at Concordia University. For the past few years, she has been working as an artisan and visual artist, integrating crochet, macramé, knitting and embroidery techniques in her projects. Her textile art practice is inspired by environmental and social issues with feminist overtones.
