Chœur Maha will present a program of music by popular women composers, including k.d. lang, The Roaches, Om Kalsoum, Geneviève Letarte and more. The concert celebrates the solidarity of Montreal women in remembering the Polytechnique massacre of December 6, 1989. Now in ils third year, Chœur Maha is an ensemble of thirty women representing a wide range of professions, backgrounds and interests, who corne together to harmonize weekly at OBORO. Most of the music is arranged by Kathy Kennedy for a four-part choral group, adding new dimensions and a unique sound to an eclectic variety of pieces. The choir’s performances have been tremendously successful, earning them a reputation as one of the city’s most dynamic musical groups.
