Jan Peacock An Anthology of Videotapes Selected by Jan Peacock and Marie Perrault
OBORO
Taking advantage of our capacity to remember diverse moments and sites at the same time as our capacity to project ourselves in other times and places, Jan Peacock stages the impossibility of our immediate presence to the world. She therefore seeks to create within the spectator, through blurrings, changes in the levels of language, and use of different languages, a presence unto oneself entirely conditioned by these linguistic facts but none the less transcending their respective conventions. - Marie Perrault, curator of the exhibition
