Éveline Le Calvez Curator: Andrée Duchaine Autel
Éveline Le Calvez describes Autel (Altar) as an interactive multimedia installation – a “body and light poem.” The device incorporates projected digital images, a soundtrack and lighting which plays on transparency and opacity. A screen projects images of hands caressing sand. The interactor is invited to mimic the gestures on a surface equipped with sensors, thus triggering images, sounds and light variations.
Éveline Le Calvez lives and works in Montréal. She is currently pursuing research on the global poetics of the body immersed in interactive multimedia environments at UQÀM, in the context of a doctoral thesis on the study and practice of the arts.
