Jacques Perron Nicole Gingras Faire et défaire
Jacques Perron, still from the video Étude, 1996
Faire et défaire is the result of a complicit exchange developed since 1985 between artist Jacques Perron and Nicole Gingras, author. This project grew out of an exchange of readings, studio visits, discussions and through a variety of collaborations. Known for his photographs and his film installations at OBORO, most of them new. The exhibition occupies two rooms and is based on the configuration of the gallery space. Faire et défaire questions the relationship that Perron entertains with photography through movement, halt and suspension, via the electronic matter. The exhibition insists on the cohabitation of what is fixed and animated - as an image reveals itself.
A bilingual publication produced by Éditions Nicole Gingras accompanies the exhibition. Author Michael Delisle is a collaborator.
