End of Residency: Moving with the Unknown

Join us for the presentation of Moving with the Unknown, an immersive video installation in development by artist My-Van Dam, presented at the end of her research residency.

This public presentation offers a glimpse into the artist’s explorations of voice, movement, breath, and embodied memory. The public is invited to discover the early stages of the project and engage with the artist’s creative process.

My-Van Dam is a multidisciplinary artist based in Tiohtiá:ke/Mooniyang/Montréal. She holds a degree in Visual and Media Arts from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and develops a practice that brings together installation, performance, image, sculpture, and drawing. Her research focuses on the transmission of intergenerational trauma, embodied memory, and processes of collective repair. Her work has been presented at the Musée de Rimouski (2025), the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (2022), MAADI (2022), the Rad Hourani Foundation (2021), Place des Arts (2021), Projet Casa (2022), Festival Art Souterrain (2022), and La Centrale galerie Powerhouse (2024). More recently, she has presented solo exhibitions at the PHI Foundation (2025), Montréal, arts interculturels (MAI) (2024), and Centre Diagonale (2026). She has been the recipient of residencies at SBC Gallery of Contemporary Art (2023) and Pocoapoco (2026). Her work has been supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts de Montréal.
