Interval

Interval is a short-term production and presentation residency program in media arts, run jointly by Festival Accès Asie and OBORO, creative partners since 1999.
The program aims to support an artist from the Asian diaspora (from anywhere in Asia) in developing and presenting a media-based project. The project can take the form of an installation, performance, or a one-time public presentation.
The selected artist will receive an artist fee and production budget and will benefit from OBORO’s support, including:
- Up to 5 days of access to OBORO’s New Media Lab studios and equipment;
- Technical assistance from OBORO’s New Media Lab team (upon availability).
The completed project will be presented on May 2, 2026, at OBORO, as part of Festival Accès Asie.
About the Partners
Since 1995, Festival Accès Asie has celebrated Asian Heritage Month in Montreal. It is interdisciplinary, inclusive, and intergenerational, showcasing the diversity of practices of artists from Asia and its diaspora in performing arts, visual and media arts, literature, interdisciplinary arts, and culinary arts.
Founded in 1982, OBORO is an artist-run center dedicated to the production and presentation of contemporary practices in visual, media, and digital arts. OBORO fosters transcultural artistic experiences as a way to contribute to collective well-being. The center offers residencies, exhibitions, educational activities, and access to studios and equipment via the New Media Lab, which also provides specialized workshops.
